Make It A Great Day!

Application Process

Requirements

As a part of the application process, applicants must complete eight (8) hours of community service and submit the FM Pay It Forward Community Service form prior to recieving a scholarship.

All fields must be completed to the best of the applicant’s and nominator’s ability.

Applications must be received by FM Pay It Forward via fax or e-mail three weeks prior to the program start date.

What to expect

The total amount of the scholarships will be dependent upon monies available for distribution.

Each of the committee members reads and evaluates each of the applications. This involves considerable time and effort, which the committee is happy to invest, since the scholarships will assist several deserving individuals.

Applicants will be notified by FM Pay It Forward of scholarship award by phone or e-mail. FM Pay It Forward will enroll the scholarship recipient in the selected program and scholarship funding will be disbursed to program provider.

Suggestions to succeed

Too often in the past, applications have been eliminated from consideration because the applicant did not follow directions or provide required information.

To improve your chances of winning a scholarship, please consider the following suggestions as you fill out the application:

  1. Use a copy of the application for a “rough draft”.
  2. Read through the application first. Then follow instructions, step by step, carefully and completely.
  3. Word process, type or email the application.
  4. When a personal statement is required, make it pertinent to the information requested.
  5. Check for accuracy, completeness, spelling and grammar.
  6. Have someone proofread your application before printing for submission.

Personal Statement (optional)

Write on a seperate sheet of paper, in your own words, any additional information that will help the committee judge your merits as a scholarship applicant. This statement should include such current information as the following: Why you feel you should receive this scholarship; school and community citizenship, personal ambitions, and interests. Write this carefully and completely, avoiding the mere restatement of information given in answer to earlier questions. [300 words or less]
